Thanksgiving

With the past month being Thanksgiving, I have been thinking all month long of my thankfulness. I/Kyle are very blessed. We have children, a home, job, dependable cars, no debt, families, health, and each other. It's very easy to get caught up in the world. I am coming to tell myself STUFF isn't important. Perfection with worldy things doesn't matter. I am SO BLESSED!

For Thanksgiving, Kyle was on call so he didn't get to spend much time with us.  The morning the kids and I just hung around.  Then in the afternoon we went to Dalynne's for Thanksgiving dinner.  It was yummy and enjoyable being with family.  We were able to Skype with siblings which was very nice to finally see them again.  Very grateful for great families.

Happy Holidays

Happy Holidays!

Not much has really been going on here.  We have been able to do our normal routines with a few extra holiday happenings.  Wyatt has been extra fun this year.  We have been doing a couple advents and countdowns.  Our family favorite has been the spiritual one we have been doing.  I decided that Wyatt is finally old enough to really understand the whole Christmas holiday.  He actually gets very excited to learn from the scriptures and to sing (while actually only I do the singing).  I have noticed since focusing more on the Savior, the other part just isn't even so important.  I find myself procrastinating the gifts.  I have been looking for a family or individual who could use it more than us.

The past year has been GREAT to us.  We can't complain much with how things are going in our life.  Yes, life gets hard, depressing, but my main goal is to be postitive and think of my blessings.  Trials and hard times will be easier to get through with a positive mind frame.  This is my new approcah and it has made a world of difference.

We hope you have a happy holiday season and enjoy spending time with families.

With love,

....and because I can't post without a photo, a few weeks ago the kids finally were able to fit into their matching pjs.  We bought them in the summer.  They love to wear them now on the same night!

Halloween 2

When holidays roll around, I always want to be that cute mom and make the day super special and fun.  But, I am not a good planner.  For breakfast I tried to make pancakes with cookie cutters...fail.  So we just had regular ones.  The kids got their costumes on and played around the house.  For lunch I took them down to Dylan's.  They give out free kids meals for dressing up.  I hope they continue to do this because I think it's a fun tradition.  We came home and took a walk around the neighborhood.  The weather was too nice to waste it doing nothing.  When we got back it was time to go out to the trunk or treat.  We went to Dawn's ward since Kyle's sister is in the same ward.  We thought other family members would be there too, but, they had other commitments.  It was fun though to be around family.  Wyatt did not like it since their were scary costumes.  Oaklee on the other hand loved it and understood too well how it worked.  After the trunk or treat Dawn and I decided to go around a neighborhood for fun.  Wyatt liked this much better.  Dawn's kids are so nice to Wy and Oak and helped them up to the doors.  Here are Leo and Dorothy!

Halloween

We did our annual halloween carving at Clif and Kristin's last week.  Wyatt and Kyle carved 3, Oaklee colored 1, and I carved one.  We had so many pumpkins from our garden that for FHE Wyatt and I decided to paint some.  After I started I quickly realized I don't do good painting free hand.  So, I painted it red and quit!

Frightmares

Last Friday we attended Frightmares for the last time this season.  It's always bittersweet to say goodbye.  We had a great year at Lagoon this year.  We always had such a fun time.  I didn't get too many pictures because we didn't ride too much since it was pretty cold.  I got a slight cold from riding the roller coasters with the girls.

Nature Center Spooky Walk & Parks

While I went to girls weekend last week, we gave the guys some ideas of things to do with the kids.  On Friday, they took them to the Ogden Nature Center for a Halloween thing.  They sure had tons to do and they stayed the whole time!

Oaklee, Aspen, & Colton

Poor Kyle.  Whenever I am gone on these girls weekends, the kids never sleep in for him.  Saturday, they were awake by 6:30 after being in bed late.  He said they were anxious to get out of the house so he took them to a park.  By the days end they had gone to 3 different parks.  I'm sure Kyle got pretty bored being there for so long.  He did so good by himself and remembered to do everything for the kids.  I'm sure proud of him.  Heck he even took all these pictures!

Kyle said she was obsessed with wearing her hat both days.  She did freak out when I wouldn't let her wear it to church.  I even had to hide it.
