5 Year Old

Wowza, I feel old now.  Wyatt turned 5 yesterday.  I'm feeling guilty about things he should know that he doesn't or the fact that I have created a non healthy eating child.  We are slowly turning him around to learn to eat healthy.  I guess we all make mistakes and learn and grow from them.  Anyway...last night I sat down with him and did a little questionnaire.

Easter

One day while Kyle was home sick we pulled out the Easter stuff because Wyatt kept begging us.  Then he wouldn't let go of us dying eggs that day.  We boiled a whole 8 eggs thinking we would dye eggs again.  We never got to do them again, so I'm glad I pulled out the camera.

For Easter this year Kyle had to work.  The day before Easter we had the Read celebration.  It was nice to get out of the house (Thanks to Dale for picking us up).  Between not driving and then Wyatt getting sick we were cooped up all week.  We were gone all day long and I was sad to leave.  Although, Wyatt was ready to go after the egg hunt!

On Easter Sunday, we hung around home playing with new swings, looking through the baskets, and watching a show.  Church was pretty interesting taking them by myself on crutches.  And then mid-way through primary Wyatt was complaining of being sick again.  After church my sweet mom came and picked us up so we could join in the Allen Family party.  I am so thankful for people willing to serve me while I am injured.  We had the yummiest dinner of ham, funeral potatoes, rolls, corn, jello eggs, and dessert.  I ate way too much!!!  We did a candy hunt in the backyard then a little later Grandma did her fun prize drawings.  We had another late night with much needed time with my family.  It had been such a long time since I had seen some of them.  I am so grateful for my family and that I get to spend it with them forever.  For FHE the week before Easter I did an egg hunt where you put objects in eggs that explained The Resurrection.  Wyatt enjoyed it so much and I think it helped him understand about the holiday.

Allergic Reaction

The day I broke my ankle I took Wyatt in for a checkup on his ears.  They started a new medicine for his antibiotic.  10 days later when I went to my surgeon appointment, I noticed he was scratching everywhere.  It got worse when I got into the surgeon and had Kyle hurry and pick up the kids.  Also, I needed x-rays and didn't have anyone to watch them while I was getting them done.  I seriously thought he had the chicken pox.  Kyle took him to the pharmacy next door to his work and the pharmacist to see if they knew what it was.  They didn't really know and told him to get Benedryl.  Later that night it was getting worse and I wanted to know what was going on since I was having surgery the next day and needed to know what precautions to take.  We took him to instacare and found out he had an allergic reaction to the new antibiotic they put him on.  The strange thing is he didn't get any reaction until the last day of the medicine.  Good news is the infection went away.

Sibling love

One day I went to put toys away in Oaklee's room and found she had put all of her babies to bed.  She even put covers on them.  I love seeing her play so much with her babies and taking care of them.
